With the unveiling of its temporary bookstore at Samaritaine, the Assouline publishing house gives visitors unprecedented access to its world, its savoir-faire and its most iconic collections.
Following on from their collaboration on the book Samaritaine Paris Pont-Neuf published in spring 2021, on January 11 Samaritaine welcomed a one-of-a-kind pop-up store dedicated to Assouline's collection of publications.
Founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper and Martine Assouline, the Assouline publishing house has established itself as the first luxury brand devoted to culture. With over 1,500 titles, the Assouline collections celebrate—book after book—the world of art, fashion, luxury and travel. This is a world as bountiful as it is fascinating, and it is to take pride of place in a space covering more than 100 m2, on the ground floor of the store. Dressed in red—the company's signature color—and adorned with vintage furniture selected by Prosper Assouline himself, the pop-up store will feature never-before-seen objets d’art, as well as a printing press and a screen displaying images that reveal the secrets behind the creation of the company's books.
In its lounge area, this treasure trove invites shoppers and curious guests alike to dive into the pages of Assouline's most fascinating works, from idyllic destinations in the Travel series to unique stories told through the Ultimate, Legends and Icons collections. Part bookstore and part gallery, the pop-up store will also host events to celebrate the launch of the company's latest must-haves.
