Often, it’s the smallest things that make the biggest impact. When it comes to jewelry, it’s less about one statement piece and more about a personalized curation of designs that layer well together.

1. Find balance between densities

To add contrast and create balance, try pairing thicker and thinner pieces of jewelry together. Three or four chunky rings might be overkill, but one statement piece, paired with two, three, or even four delicate, dainty rings can work beautifully. 2. Pepper it with focal points

While it’s not true that your necklaces need to be exactly separated by length — looking a little undone can be chic — having them fall at different places allows each piece to shine on its own merit. 3. Play with metals and materials

Throw that outdated rule of not mixing metals out the window, and pair your golds, silvers, and rose golds together. Keep in mind a sense of synergy throughout, like a reoccurrence of accents such as diamonds, to help tie the curation together and avoid looking haphazard.

4. Stack it up high

When it comes to earrings, create an elongated, elevated effect through stacking pieces together. While the placement and shape of your ear will really determine how many earrings you can wear, no matter the final number, the easiest styling trick to following is the cascading rule — the larger, bolder pieces at the lobe, and smaller, hugging pieces rising in size higher up the ear.
