Created in 1978 with the intention of showcasing the very best Beringer vineyards in the Napa Valley.
With the shift to a modern, stylish, riper version of Cabernet Sauvignon, Beringer Private Reserve quickly became a "cult" favorite amongst collectors and aficionados, which earned it—#1 wine of the world by Wine Spectator (1994).
The Private Reserve legacy of greatness continues today with our 9th chief winemaker Ryan Rech.
Bottle Size: 0.75L
Region: Napa Valley
ABV: 15.2%
Vintage: 2015
Rating: 99 Points - James Suckling

Tasting Notes: Complex layers of wild bramble berry fruit and wild violets and notes of cocoa powder, dark chocolate, graphite, and tobacco spice from the well-integrated oak, seamlessly are interwoven with the full-bodied ripe tannins, supporting a firm structure with balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent and textured finish. Aged 18 months in new French oak (90% new), 16 months in bottle.
Food Match: Slow braised marinated short ribs.
